Summer Adolescent DBT Group
Does your teen (14-18) struggle with… Anxiety? Depression? Issues with peers?
Learn more about our new 6-Week Adolescent Intensive DBT Program!
DBT is a type of therapy involving both one on one counseling and group therapy participation. This type of therapy is one of the most clinically proven and evidence-based methods. Clients can learn to build skills in the following areas:
- Distress Tolerance
- Emotional Regulation
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
Clients learn skills and strategies to balance the ideas of acceptance and change as they work towards their individual therapy goals. For example, clients learn both to tolerate distress rather than try to change it, and to identify and work on emotions that they want to change.
One of our skilled DBT-trained therapists will complete an individual evaluation prior to enrolling a client in the group. A decision will then be made regarding a client’s appropriateness for group participation.
Clients must see an individual DBT therapist, either at Resource Group or elsewhere, in order to be eligible for the skills training group.
Where and When?
The group meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11am-1pm. The program runs from July 8th – August 16th. Clients will attend each group meeting and will complete the program after 6 weeks. Some insurance providers offer limited coverage for the group.
