This didactic and experiential seminars reviews the seven DBT Mindfulness skills. Providing the underpinnings of behavioral change in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, these mindfulness skills increase awareness of thoughts, feelings and actions. Mindfulness skills also increase effective decision making and allow us to see the world as it is, without judgment.
This program provides 3 CEUs for professional counselors, social workers, and psychologists.
After attending this course participants will be able to:
- Conduct Mindfulness exercises with your clients
- Utilize Mindfulness skills in your personal life
- Coach clients in the use of Mindfulness skills
- Compare DBT Mindfulness skills to Mindfulness Meditation
About the Trainer
Vicki Weidman, LCSW-C, Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Trainer is a licensed psychotherapist with 20 years of experience treating individuals and groups with substance abuse, mood and personality disorders. She has worked in rehab, outpatient and private practice settings in New York, NY, Princeton, NJ and Towson, MD. Since 2006 Vicki has been a DBT Skills Trainer and Individual therapist.
Ms. Weidman has been intensively trained and certified by Marsha Linehan, founder of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and by Linehan’s training company, Behavioral Tech. Vicki is currently the DBT Program Director at the Resource Group in Towson, MD. She also provides training to organizations for the implementation of DBT Skills Training and Program development.
